Google is trying to fix a glitch in their Analytics software that has been showing inaccurate results since April 2011. Though Google claims it has only affected the data for the previous month, reports from across webmasters states discrepancies in analytics information even during May.
In most of the profiles the issue has been noticed within Advanced Segmentations and if we disable Advanced Segments, once again April data is visible in these reports. Data has dropped to zero in most cases. This would panic most website stakeholders though most of them are getting informed about the GA issue.
Google developers have reassured that no data has been lost and they are clearing the issue and should have this fixed no later than 23rd of May.
Google Analytics offers many features that comes free of cost and is being used by millions across the globe, let’s hope they can fix this once for all.
